Viking Classic Canceled

Excessive rains in the Jackson, MS area have forced PGA Tour officials to cancel this week's Viking Classic. Annandale Golf Club received 1.75 inches of rain overnight Friday and Saturday, completely soaking a course that already had areas of standing water and large tracts of mud. The area has received more than 20 inches of rain in the past six weeks.

With the cancelation of the event, Ryuji Imada has now finished his 2009 PGA Tour season. Imada will now travel to Japan for the Japan Golf Tour's Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheiyo Masters, November 12-15 in Shizuoka, Japan. Imada will remain overseas to participate in the OMEGA Mission Hills World Cup and Hitachi 3 Tours Championship.
