Ryuji Imada and his partner Toru Taniguchi finished the final round of the OMEGA Mission Hills World Cup tied for third place. They were Asia’s best finishers representing Team Japan. Imada and Taniguchi carded a final round 68, earning the pair $429,000 of the $5.5 million purse. Team Sweden claimed this year’s title, three shots ahead of Spain.
Imada and Taniguchi made their international debut in this year’s World Cup, held at tje Mission Hills Golf Club in Japan. Because the event was in Asia, the Japanese team had a lot of pressure on them to produce. Indeed they did. Taniguchi's solid short game and Imada's rock steady game helped earn the respect of the fans.
