Imada Signs Multi-Year Extension with Titleist

September 22, 2008

Ryuji Imada has signed a three-year extension with Titleist, one of the world’s leading golf manufacturers. Imada will help spearhead the biggest club introduction in company history by playing the new Titleist 909 driver at this week’s TOUR Championship. In addition to the driver he will continue to use Titleist fairway woods, irons, and wedges through 2011.

“I’m very excited to continue my relationship with Titleist / FootJoy,” said Imada. “I feel confident about their product line and I’m looking forward to what they have planned for the future.”

Imada has had a career-year in 2008, winning his first PGA Tour event at the AT&T Classic and taking home $2,588,376 in his first 22 events. He recorded four Top 10 finishes and eight Top 25 finishes in 2008, both career highs. Imada enters the TOUR Championship in 14th position on the PGA Tour Official Money List.

Imada used a full set of Titleist clubs, including a Scotty Cameron Prototype putter, FootJoy shoes and a Titleist ProV1X golf ball throughout the 2008 season. He has played the full line of Titleist equipment since joining the PGA Tour in 2005.

For the first time in his career, Imada will play in the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. After the TOUR Championship, Imada will make stops in Japan to participate in a Japan Golf Tour event, and China, where he will represent his country for the first time in the World Cup.

“Ryuji is an attractive player not only because he had one of the best seasons on the PGA Tour in 2008, but also because his appeal stretches worldwide,” said Jeremy Elliott, Director of Golf for Career Sports & Entertainment. “Titleist is a worldwide brand and we believe that Ryuji’s global appeal is of significant value to them.”
